MACKENZIE HEALTH: R. FERRI IMPACT
Mackenzie Health’s two-hospital future is now a reality for our growing community, who have been patiently waiting for the opening of a new hospital for many years. Thanks to the tremendous support of community leaders like the Ferri family and R. Ferri Automotive, Canada’s first smart hospital, Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital, is now open to serve western York Region and beyond.
The monetary gift presented on behalf of R. Ferri Automotive made it possible to open the R. Ferri Automotive Family Lounge in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit within the Woman and Child Program, which provides a quiet, relaxing space for families to unwind while receiving around-the clock care for small and premature newborns. The R. Ferri Automotive Lounge provides parents and families with the space they need to rest and connect as a family, form lifelong bonds with other parents and celebrate the milestones along their infant’s journey while in the hospital.
Located on Level 4, the R. Ferri Automotive Family Lounge provides a peaceful and inviting space for families to rest and recharge when their loved ones are being cared for at the hospital.
Remo Ferri, President, R. Ferri Automotive, and his family present a $1-million gift in support of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital to Altaf Stationwala, President and CEO, Mackenzie Health; Rina Pillitteri, Chair, Board of Directors, Mackenzie Health Foundation; Honourable Maurizio Bevilacqua, Mayor of City of Vaughan and Chair, the Ultimate Campaign; and Krista Finlay, President and CEO, Mackenzie Health Foundation.
